Nearly 1.5 million people are affected by the flash floods of Krishna & Tungabhadra Rivers that has devastated Kurnool & Mahaboobnagar districts. One of the most affected group is the school children who have stopped going to the school as they lost their books and belongings. Vandemataram foundation has taken the initiative in a focused way to support the school children of Kollapur, Pebberu & Alampur mandals of Mahaboobnagar district. The school children were provided a School Bag, notebooks, Geometry box, Pen, pencil, Plate & Tumbler for the mid-day meal.
About 7.5 lakh children are affected by floods across the State, specially in Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Krishna and Guntur districts and an estimated Rs. 3.14 crore is required to get them access to medicare so that an outbreak of diarrhoea and other water-borne diseases can be checked.13 per cent of children under 5 years of age were already acutely malnourished. The current level of acute malnutrition in Andhra Pradesh is already just below the global emergency trigger threshold. With so many children denied access to clean water and sanitation, they are especially at a greater risk of water-borne diseases including diarrhoea, one of the biggest killers of children in
Infosys Foundation was kind enough to support the affected children. We thank you for choosing us to help the children. Infosys contribution of Rs. 3,00,000/- has been utilized to benefit 1200 children in two govt schools.

The School kits are not just a material support for the children but also a morale booster and an enhancer for the children and the family.
